If you have been eyeing a premium electric vehicle from BYD India, you might want to finalize that decision sooner rather than later. The world’s leading New Energy Vehicle manufacturer has just announced an upcoming price revision across its entire electric passenger vehicle portfolio. Set to take effect on July 1, 2026, this move will impact all models in their current lineup, making the next few weeks crucial for prospective buyers looking to lock in current prices.
The upcoming price increase will range from 1% to 2%, depending on the specific model and variant you choose to bring home. According to Rajeev Chauhan, Head of the Electric Passenger Vehicles Business at BYD India, this revision is not an arbitrary markup but a necessary adjustment driven by sustained foreign exchange fluctuations. Despite the challenging macroeconomic environment, the brand has reiterated its commitment to delivering premium, high-value electric mobility solutions without compromising on the advanced safety and technology their customers have come to expect.
Fortunately, BYD is offering a grace period for buyers who are already in the market by introducing a price protection plan. If you complete your vehicle booking during May or June 2026, you will be entirely protected from the impending price hike and will only pay the current ex-showroom prices. However, to qualify for this price protection, you must take delivery of your vehicle on or before July 31, 2026. Any new bookings made on or after July 1 will automatically be subject to the newly revised pricing structure.
This price revision comes at a time when BYD is experiencing significant momentum in the Indian market. Their electric lineup, particularly the popular BYD ATTO 3 and the recently launched BYD SEALION 7, continues to see robust demand among premium car buyers. A major selling point driving this consumer interest has been BYD's proprietary in-house technology. Their vehicles feature the highly regarded Blade Battery, known for its rigorous safety standards and impressive energy density, alongside Cell-to-Body integration which greatly enhances both structural rigidity and interior cabin space. Paired with their 8-in-1 electric powertrain, these vehicles deliver improved driving range, faster charging times, and a smarter connected driving experience.
This price revision comes at a time when BYD is experiencing significant momentum in the Indian market. Their electric lineup, particularly the popular BYD ATTO 3 and the recently launched BYD SEALION 7, continues to see robust demand among premium car buyers. In fact, this growing popularity was clearly reflected in the latest May 2026 sales data, where BYD officially outpaced Hyundai in the Indian passenger EV market, registering 686 units compared to Hyundai's 460.
While a 1% to 2% increase might sound modest on paper, it translates to a noticeable bump in the final on-road price of a premium electric vehicle. If technologically advanced models like the ATTO 3 or SEALION 7 are currently on your shortlist, securing your booking before the end of June is undoubtedly the smartest financial move, allowing you to join a growing community of sustainable mobility advocates while keeping a little extra money in your pocket.
