Timex Expands Its Chronograph Lineup with the New MK1

Timex has officially launched its newest iteration of the MK1 Chronograph, bringing an elevated, dress-ready feel to the beloved military-inspired field watch. Valued for its straightforward design and dependable performance, this latest release refines a familiar formula without losing its rugged, everyday character.

The updated MK1 collection is built around a versatile 40mm brushed stainless-steel case with a 20mm lug width, a case height of 12.5mm, and a lug-to-lug distance of 47mm. Crafted from tarnish-free, hypoallergenic stainless steel, the case offers lasting durability and a clean aesthetic that transitions naturally from casual weekends to more polished settings.

The standout mechanical feature of this new launch is the meca-quartz chronograph movement. This hybrid caliber combines the precise, battery-powered reliability of quartz timekeeping with a mechanical chronograph module, delivering the satisfying, smooth sweeping second hand traditionally found in mechanical watches.

Field watches prioritize legibility, and the MK1 stays true to its heritage. The clean dial layout features large, full Arabic numeral hour markers and hands treated with luminant in-fill for easy readability in changing light conditions. A vintage-style domed acrylic crystal completes the look, adding classic mid-century character. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters (5 ATM / 164 ft).

For the strap, Timex pairs these models with supple, eco-friendly natural leather sourced from Leather Working Group (LWG) suppliers, supporting responsible leather production. The straps feature tool-free, quick-release spring bars for easy attachment and are secured with a classic stainless steel buckle clasp.

The collection debuts with 2 distinct variants. The line offers rich green (TW2Y71200) and blue (TW2Y71300) sunray dials paired with black leather straps and subtle color-matched side stitching.
