Ultraviolette Automotive, the Bengaluru-based startup best known for its performance electric motorcycles, is preparing for a massive shift in scale. Ahead of the highly anticipated launch of its first electric scooter, the Tesseract, the company has announced plans to expand its annual manufacturing capacity to 1.5 lakh (150,000) units. Currently operating at a production capacity of around 50,000 to 60,000 vehicles, this phased upgrade will allow Ultraviolette to transition from a niche premium brand into a high-volume player in the competitive EV space. To build momentum for this transition, the company is targeting 1,000 monthly vehicle sales by the end of 2026, setting a strong foundation for a wider product portfolio and a planned Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the future.

The driving force behind this aggressive expansion is the upcoming Tesseract. Designed to appeal to a much broader everyday audience than the brand's flagship F77 and X-47 motorcycles, the scooter has already racked up over 80,000 early bookings. Ultraviolette has significantly reworked the Tesseract since its initial showcase, equipping it with a pioneering 100V electrical architecture that promises better thermal management, sustained performance, and faster charging times. With deliveries officially slated to begin in the first quarter of 2027, the company is also rapidly expanding its retail experience centers across India to ensure its network is ready for the unprecedented demand.
