The entry-level family EV segment just got a massive shake-up. For years, the TVS iQube has been the safe, sensible choice for buyers wanting a no-nonsense electric scooter. But Ather’s latest launch on their new EL platform, the Konarc, has brought some aggressive pricing and packaging to the segment.


If you're shopping with a budget of roughly ₹1.2 lakh, you're likely cross-shopping the newly updated TVS iQube 2.3 kWh and the newly launched Ather Konarc S 125 (which packs the 2.7 kWh battery). While both are highly capable, the Konarc brings some serious mechanical and architectural upgrades to the table.


Let’s break down exactly where the Ather pulls ahead.


1. Up to 10-Year Warranty vs. TVS's 5-Year Cap


Let's talk numbers first. The TVS iQube 2.3 is priced at ₹1,20,124, while the Ather Konarc S 125 sits right next to it at ₹1,21,999 (ex-showroom). For that marginal ₹1,875 difference, you get a massive upgrade in battery tech.


Ather backs its robust battery pack with an available extended 10-year/1,00,000 km warranty. The iQube? It uses a standard Li-ion pack, and even if you opt for the extended package, TVS rigidly caps the maximum warranty at just 5 years.


2. Higher IDC Range for the Same Money


You're paying almost exactly the same price, but the Konarc simply gives you more battery—2.7 kWh versus the iQube's 2.3 kWh pack. That translates to an IDC-certified range of 125 km for the Ather, compared to the iQube's 114 km. An extra 11 km might not sound huge on paper, but in real-world city traffic—where you might have a heavy throttle hand or face sudden detours—that extra buffer goes a long way toward killing range anxiety.


3. Swingarm-Mounted Motor vs. Rear Hub Motor


This is where chassis dynamics come into play. The iQube 2.3 mounts its 3.68 kW motor directly inside the rear wheel hub. That adds a lot of unsprung weight.
