5 Reasons Why You Should Still Wait for the Ultraviolette Tesseract

When Ultraviolette announced the Tesseract, the spec sheet read like an enthusiast's wishlist. Now, with deliveries pushed to Q1 2027, it is tempting to cancel your pre-booking and jump ship to other premium electric scooters currently on the market. But a closer look at what is brewing behind the scenes in Bengaluru reveals that this delay isn't just about buying time, it's about a massive engineering pivot.  


Here are five reasons why holding out for the Tesseract is still the smartest move in the EV space.


1. A Bespoke 100V High-Voltage Architecture


Originally, the plan was to adapt the F77 motorcycle’s proven powertrain for a scooter chassis. Ultraviolette wisely scrapped that idea. To solve the thermal management issues inherent in confined scooter bodies, they are developing a brand-new 100V high-voltage architecture from the ground up. This translates to smaller, lighter powertrain components that run cooler, deliver sustained peak power without derating, and support significantly faster charging speeds.  


2. Category-Shattering Performance & Range Options


Most electric scooters are forced to choose between efficiency and raw thrills. The Tesseract is promising a massive 15kW peak power output (roughly 20.1 bhp). With a top speed of 125 km/h and a 0-60 km/h sprint in just 2.9 seconds, it is built to dominate the segment. Add to that three battery pack options (3.5kWh, 5kWh, and 6kWh), with the largest 6kWh pack delivering an immense 261 km IDC range, and range anxiety becomes a non-issue.  


3. First-in-Class Radar & ARAS 360


Ultraviolette isn't just bolting on basic cameras; they are integrating genuine Advanced Rider Assistance Systems (ARAS). The Tesseract features dual radars (front and rear) and a smart dashcam setup that adapts to the terrain. This unlocks 360-degree awareness, providing active blind-spot detection, rear collision warnings, and overtake alerts. Having a digital co-pilot tracking fast-approaching vehicles from behind is a game-changer for unpredictable city traffic.  


4. The ₹1.20 Lakh Price Promise for Early Bookers


Delays almost always result in price hikes, especially when a manufacturer decides to completely re-engineer the vehicle's core architecture. However, Ultraviolette has committed to honoring the original ₹1.20 lakh (ex-showroom) introductory price for early 50,000 bookers. Securing a 100V, radar-equipped performance scooter at that price point is an undeniable bargain that current market alternatives simply cannot match.


5. Aggressive Stance Meets Everyday Practicality


Combat-helicopter aesthetics are great, but a scooter still needs utility. The final production-spec Tesseract strikes a smart balance. It rides on large 14-inch wheels for high-speed stability and features a redesigned, more spacious floorboard. Most importantly, the cavernous 34-liter under-seat storage means you can actually swallow a premium full-face helmet—a notoriously rare feat in performance-oriented EVs.
