Ather Confirms Bedrock Battery's 10-Year Warranty is Transferable

Ather Energy has officially confirmed a major win for electric two-wheeler owners: the comprehensive 10-year warranty on its Bedrock battery is fully transferable to subsequent owners. This move directly targets one of the biggest lingering anxieties in the secondary EV market—long-term battery degradation and the looming threat of out-of-warranty replacement costs.

The Bedrock battery system is backed by an industry-leading 10-year or 1,00,000 km warranty that guarantees the pack will maintain at least a 70% State of Health (SoH). If the battery's capacity dips below that threshold during the coverage period, Ather provides a replacement. The warranty also includes robust safeguards, such as 100% coverage against electronic defects, zero upper limits on claim amounts, and an idle state assurance that protects the battery even if it suffers a deep discharge from being parked for extended periods.
By allowing this extended coverage to seamlessly pass to the next owner, Ather is fundamentally altering the total cost of ownership equation. Used EV buyers can now pick up a pre-owned scooter with the exact same battery security as a showroom buyer. For a market still battling skepticism around long-term electric drivetrain durability, making a decade-long safety net transferable is a massive step forward for preserving resale values.
