Ather Energy has achieved a major milestone in India's electric mobility transition, officially surpassing 8 lakh cumulative retail sales. According to the Vahan portal, the Bengaluru-based smart scooter manufacturer recorded exactly 800,832 units sold as of September 29, 2026. This achievement firmly cements Ather's position as a top-tier electric two-wheeler brand in the country, making it only the fourth manufacturer to reach this scale alongside Ola Electric, TVS, and Bajaj.

The journey to 8 lakh units highlights a dramatic acceleration in Ather's recent market penetration. While the company made its commercial debut in 2018, consumer adoption has skyrocketed over the past year, with the brand adding nearly 100,000 units in just one quarter. A central driver behind this rapid volume growth has been the Ather Rizta, the brand's first family scooter, which successfully captured everyday commuters beyond its traditional, performance-focused 450 series.

Looking ahead, this momentum is expected to surge even further with the introduction of the all-new Ather Konarc. Recently launched at an aggressive starting price of ₹99,999, the Konarc is a practical, family-oriented electric scooter built on a sturdy steel unibody frame. By offering essential everyday features like a metal body, 14-inch front wheels, and multiple variants delivering between 100 km and 161 km of range, it directly targets the mass commuter segment. As it reaches dealerships, the Konarc is perfectly positioned to drive mainstream adoption and rapidly accelerate Ather's push toward the 10-lakh milestone.
