Ultraviolette Shockwave Electric Bike Launch Confirmed for 2027

Ultraviolette Automotive has confirmed that its upcoming electric enduro motorcycle, the Shockwave, will be launched in India in the first quarter of 2027. The company has already started preparing the production line at its existing manufacturing facility, indicating that development of the motorcycle is progressing as planned.

The Shockwave will be built on Ultraviolette’s new 100V electrical architecture. This platform is also expected to be used in the company’s upcoming Tesseract electric motorcycle. According to Ultraviolette, the new architecture has been developed to improve power delivery, thermal efficiency and charging performance, which could make the motorcycle more responsive and practical for everyday use.

The electric motorcycle will be available in both single-seat and dual-seat configurations. Ultraviolette is positioning the Shockwave as a lightweight and entertaining motorcycle, with its design and riding character inspired by the fun and lively nature of traditional two-stroke bikes. This approach could help it appeal to riders looking for an electric motorcycle that offers more excitement than a typical commuter-focused model.

In terms of performance, the Shockwave is expected to feature a 4kWh battery pack and a 14.5bhp electric motor. The company claims a peak torque output of 505Nm, an IDC-certified range of 165km and a 0–60kmph acceleration time of 2.9 seconds. It is also expected to have a top speed of 120kmph. However, these figures are based on the currently revealed specifications, and the final production model could receive some changes.

The motorcycle will come equipped with several electronic features, including switchable dual-channel ABS, four traction control modes and six levels of regenerative braking. It will also feature LED lighting and a steel frame, along with telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. The Shockwave will ride on a 21-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, both fitted with wire-spoke rims and dual-purpose tyres.

With its enduro-inspired design, strong claimed performance and multiple riding aids, the Ultraviolette Shockwave could become an interesting option in India’s growing electric motorcycle market. More details about its final price, variant lineup and exact launch date are expected to be announced closer to its official introduction in 2027.
