Ather to Launch its First Commuter Electric Scooter on August 29

Ather Energy is preparing to enter the heart of the Indian scooter market with the upcoming Ather EL01, expected to be priced aggressively between ₹1 Lakh and ₹1.25 Lakh (ex-showroom). Set to be unveiled on August 29, 2026, at Ather Community Day in Bengaluru, this marks a strategic pivot for the brand from a premium, niche player to a high-volume EV manufacturer.

The EL01 is built on the all-new EL platform, Ather's first fresh vehicle architecture since the 450 series. Rather than stripping down a premium model, this platform was engineered from the ground up for scalability, versatility, and cost-effective manufacturing. This approach ensures they can hit mass-market prices while maintaining quality.

Crucially, the EL01 isn't just a budget scooter; it's an entry point into Ather's established ecosystem. Buyers will gain access to the Ather Grid—India’s widest two-wheeler fast-charging network. With 52 registered patents under their belt, Ather intends to leverage their tech pedigree to make the EL01 a strong differentiator in the crowded mainstream segment.
