BGauss C12 MaxR Launched at Rs 1.46 Lakh: 3.8kWh LFP Battery & 178km Range
BGauss has launched the C12 MaxR electric scooter in India at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 1.46 lakh. The scooter departs from the neo-retro styling of earlier models in favor of a conventional design with sharp lines. It features a rectangular, handlebar-mounted LED projector headlamp, apron-integrated turn indicators, and a wide floorboard. It is available in four color options: Sparkling Wine with Champagne Gold, Terra Green with Champagne Gold, Pearl White, and Satin Black.
The scooter is powered by an IP67-rated 3.8kWh LFP battery pack that provides an IDC-certified range of 178km. It uses a swingarm-mounted HyperZen in-wheel motor producing a peak power of 4.2kW. This setup allows for a 0-40kmph acceleration time of 5.3 seconds and a top speed of 75kmph. The vehicle includes three standard ride modes (Eco, Ride, and Sport), alongside reverse mode, cruise control, and regenerative braking. A front apron-mounted charging port connects to a 750W charger, capable of charging the battery from 0-80% in 3 hours and 50 minutes, and 0-100% in 5 hours and 15 minutes.
Hardware specifications include 12-inch alloy wheels, a telescopic front fork, and a five-step adjustable rear shock. Braking is managed by a 220mm front disc and a rear drum equipped with CBS. The C12 MaxR has a ground clearance of 160mm and a payload capacity of 150kg. Storage features comprise a two-helmet under-seat compartment with hydraulic struts and internal lighting, a lockable front section, and dedicated spaces for an umbrella, water bottle, mobile phone, and first aid kit.
The scooter is equipped with a 5-inch TFT display that supports turn-by-turn navigation, call notifications, user profiles, and multiple display themes. Additional electronics include FallSense (fall detection), wireless charging, Parental Lock, SecureLock, side-stand motor cut-off, SOS alerts, and DigiLocker integration. BGauss offers a standard 3-year or 50,000km warranty covering the battery, motor, vehicle, and charger. The C12 MaxR positions itself in the family electric scooter segment against models like the Ather Rizta, Bajaj Chetak, and TVS iQube.
