Casio has officially introduced the MTP-E740 series, a fresh addition to its popular analog lineup that emphasizes clean design and everyday versatility. This new collection brings a modern touch to the classic three-hand watch, offering a range of striking dial colors for the style-conscious wearer.
The series debuts with five distinct colorways, catering to both traditional and contemporary tastes. Each model is housed in a robust stainless steel case that stands out for its impressively slim profile, measuring just 8.7mm in thickness for a comfortable fit on any wrist.

Every model is built around a compact stainless steel case measuring 45.0 × 39.8 × 8.7 mm and weighing in at a comfortable 103 grams. The slim 8.7 mm profile makes the MTP-E740 an easy daily wearer that slips neatly under a shirt cuff, while the 39.8 mm width keeps the proportions wearable for a wide range of wrist sizes.
The standout feature of this launch is the translucent dial. Taking design cues from vintage 1970s classics like the Seiko Time Sonar, the see-through dial reveals the day and date wheels operating underneath, giving the watches a layered, mechanical look rarely seen at this price point.
Powering the MTP-E740 is a reliable Japan-made quartz movement. The three-hand analog caliber keeps things deliberately simple—there is no chronograph, no alarm, just honest timekeeping rated for accuracy within ±20 seconds per month. The movement runs on an SR920SW battery, which Casio estimates will deliver approximately three years of service life.
Durability is addressed with a 50-meter water resistance rating, equivalent to 5 bar of pressure. This level of protection is sufficient for everyday splashes, rain, and hand-washing, though it is not intended for swimming or diving pursuits. The mineral crystal protects the dial from the knocks and scrapes of daily wear.
Legibility remains strong despite the playful dial design. Applied hour markers and polished hands stand out clearly against the translucent colored background, while the day-date window at 3 o'clock is framed for quick reference. The "JAPAN MOVT" inscription at 6 o'clock quietly signals the watch's Japanese-engineered internals.
Each watch is paired with a matching stainless steel bracelet that features a one-touch three-fold clasp for secure, tool-free fastening. The bracelet construction mirrors the case finish, delivering a cohesive all-metal aesthetic that punches well above the series' expected price bracket.
Pricing for the MTP-E740 series has not been officially confirmed at the time of unveiling. Retailer leaks suggest an August 2026 release window, positioning these models as Casio's newest summer drops in the Standard collection. Given the brand's positioning, expect an aggressively affordable price point consistent with other MTP offerings.
The Casio MTP-E740 represents a compelling value proposition. It delivers a genuinely unique dial concept, solid stainless steel construction, bilingual day-date functionality, and reliable Japanese quartz timekeeping for the everyday wearer who wants something a little different on the wrist.
