Hanhart’s Matte Black Aquasphere Hits the Market

German watchmaker Hanhart, best known for its aviation heritage and signature red accents, has expanded its Aquasphere dive watch collection with a striking new matte black variant. Following the successful launch of the blue dial version last year, this latest release trades vibrant ocean tones for an understated, tactical aesthetic that feels right at home both underwater and on the wrist.

The watch retains the same capable 42 mm stainless steel case, measuring 12.95 mm in thickness and offering a solid 300 meters of water resistance. What sets this model apart is its matte black dial, framed by silver-colored rehaut rings and paired with crisp white hour markers and hands. True to Hanhart’s DNA, splashes of red appear on the central seconds hand tip and the black ceramic unidirectional bezel markings, adding just enough visual energy without disrupting the monochrome theme. All indices, numerals, and the triangle marker are treated with Super-LumiNova C1, ensuring excellent legibility in dark environments.

Powering the Aquasphere is the reliable Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and delivering up to 38 hours of power reserve. Buyers can choose from three strap options: an elastic hook strap priced at €1,294.12, an FKM rubber strap with a folding clasp at €1,378.15, or a full stainless steel bracelet for €1,462.18. Whether you’re a serious diver or simply appreciate a well-built tool watch with a moody new look, the matte black Aquasphere offers serious value in a seriously cool package.
