Maruti Suzuki's Undisputed Reign: Unsurprisingly, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd continues to be the heavyweight champion of the Indian auto sector. The automaker sold 1,61,873 units in July 2026, holding onto its massive 38.86% market share.
Tata & Mahindra Overtake Hyundai: The most remarkable story of July 2026 is the fierce battle for the runner-up positions. Tata Motors has officially secured the #2 spot with 58,774 units and a 14.11% market share. Close on its heels is Mahindra & Mahindra in the #3 position with 56,219 units (13.50% share).
Hyundai Slips to Fourth: With Tata and Mahindra experiencing explosive volume growth, Hyundai Motor India has been pushed down to the fourth position. Despite slightly growing its absolute volume to 47,853 units, its market share contracted to 11.49%.
Stable Mid-Field & New Entrants: Toyota and Kia held strong in the 5th and 6th positions, respectively. Further down the list, new entrant VINFAST AUTO INDIA PVT LTD made a noteworthy debut with 1,482 units sold, immediately capturing a 0.36% market share. Meanwhile, BYD India also saw steady YoY growth, increasing from 613 to 749 units in the premium EV space.
