Next-Gen Dacia Spring EV Revealed: 250km Range, New Platform & Specs

Dacia is accelerating its electric mobility roadmap with the unveiling of the all-new, second-generation Spring. Built in Europe at the Novo Mesto plant in Slovenia, this smart A-segment EV rides on Renault Group’s new RG-EV small platform. While it retains the name of its predecessor, which moved over 210,000 units globally, everything else has been completely re-engineered to deliver a more robust, tech-forward daily driver.
The design overhaul is immediately apparent in the new Spring’s proportions. By increasing the width by 18 cm, Dacia has given the car a significantly stronger, more grounded stance while simultaneously carving out more interior space. The styling strips away the superfluous, utilizing highly geometric lines, black trim strips connecting the front and rear lights, and a distinct light signature inspired by the Dacia Link emblem. Buyers can choose from four straightforward colors: Agave, Schist Grey, Diamond Black, and Glacier White.
Inside the cabin, horizontal dashboard lines create a greater sense of space, complemented by modern digital interfaces. The instrument panel now features a 7-inch digital cluster across all trims, while the center stack houses a 10.1-inch multimedia touchscreen on higher variants like the Journey finish, complete with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Dacia has also integrated a clever "My Safety" function, allowing drivers to quickly customize their Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) settings on startup without menu-diving.

Powering this urban commuter is a 60 kW (80 hp) electric motor that delivers 175 Nm of torque, pushing the Spring from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.1 seconds with a top speed of 130 km/h. At the heart of the drivetrain is a 27.5 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack. This chemistry choice is perfectly suited for daily cycling and longevity, offering up to 250 km of WLTP combined range—more than enough considering the average A-segment EV driver covers around 34 km a day.
Charging infrastructure compatibility has also been thoughtfully mapped out. The Spring ships with a standard 6.6 kW AC onboard charger that can replenish the battery from 15% to 80% in about 9 hours on a standard domestic socket, or just under 3 hours on a 7 kW wallbox. For those needing quicker turnarounds, an optional fast-charge pack upgrades the system to 11 kW AC and 50 kW DC charging, bringing the 15% to 80% charge time down to just 28 minutes at a compatible DC fast charger.
