Seiko Expands its Presage Cocktail Time Lineup with Three Stunning New Automatics

Seiko has quietly dropped three new Presage Cocktail Time automatics onto the Japanese market, and they’re everything fans of the line have come to expect — elegant, drink-inspired, and aggressively priced. The trio — designated HCB001J, HCB002J, and HCB003J — all retail for ¥68,200, or roughly $421, making them a compelling entry point into Japanese dress-watch territory.

Each model leans into the Cocktail Time formula with a sunburst dial drawn from classic bar aesthetics. The HCB001J pairs a blue sunburst face with a stainless steel bracelet, while the HCB002J and HCB003J opt for leather straps in deep green and warm brown respectively. All three feature dagger-style indices with gold-tone accents, keeping the look refined without drifting into flashiness.

Under the hood, Seiko’s reliable 4R35 automatic movement handles the timekeeping. It offers manual winding, hacking seconds, a 41-hour power reserve, and a date complication — nothing fancy, but proven and serviceable at this price. The 38.5 mm stainless steel case wears slim at 11.8 mm thick, capped by a box-type Hardlex crystal and a display case back. Water resistance is a modest 5 bar, which is perfectly fine for a watch built for the office or dinner table rather than the deep end.

Weight varies by strap choice: the bracelet model tips the scales at 108 g, while the leather variants come in at a featherlight 64 g each. Both leather versions also include quick-release levers for painless strap changes. For now, these are Japan-only releases, though Seiko often lets its domestic exclusives trickle out to international markets eventually.
