For those whose summer plans take them beyond the shoreline and into the depths, Timex has introduced a precision instrument designed for the most demanding underwater environments. The Deepwater Meridian 300 Titanium HEV Automatic, priced at $999, is a testament to the brand's evolution in high-performance watchmaking. It combines professional-grade diving specifications with a lightweight, highly durable construction that feels substantial in capability without being cumbersome on the wrist.

At the core of the watch is a 44mm case crafted from grade 5 titanium, a material renowned for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and superior surface hardness. This premium metal ensures that the watch can withstand the rigors of serious diving while remaining comfortable for all-day wear. Purpose-built for life below the surface, the Meridian 300 is water-resistant to 300 meters and features an automatic helium escape valve positioned at 10 o'clock. This critical feature allows helium molecules to exit the case during decompression, protecting the crystal from potential damage as divers return to the surface.

Reliable timekeeping is provided by a Miyota 8215 21-jewel automatic movement, which is powered by the natural motion of the wearer's wrist. This self-winding mechanism is housed within a suite of protective features, including a screw-down crown, a screw-on case back, and a sturdy crown protector. For tracking elapsed time underwater, the watch is equipped with a unidirectional ratcheting top ring. Visibility is further enhanced by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating and Nemoto LumiNova SG2200 in-fill on the dial and hands, ensuring clear readability even in the dimmest oceanic conditions.

Completing the build is a UV-resistant HNBR synthetic rubber strap, engineered specifically for comfort and long-term durability in saltwater environments. The strap features perforations for increased breathability and quick-release spring bars that allow for tool-free changes, making it easy to transition from a dive suit to casual wear. Whether you're fishing, boating, or exploring the deep sea, the Deepwater Meridian 300 is designed to perform where reliability is essential and conditions are unpredictable.
