Wayve, Stellantis and NVIDIA Join Forces to Advance Autonomous Driving in France

Wayve, Stellantis and NVIDIA have announced a new collaboration with the French Government to support the safe and responsible development of autonomous vehicles in France. The announcement was made on October 23, 2026, during the Assises du Véhicule Autonome, as France works to build a strong ecosystem for artificial intelligence and future mobility.
The partnership brings together the strengths of all three technology and automotive leaders. Stellantis will contribute its L4-Ready Platforms and expertise in vehicle engineering and manufacturing. Wayve will provide its AI Driver technology, while NVIDIA will support the project with its Hyperion computing and sensor platform and NVIDIA Halos OS. Together, these technologies are designed to create a foundation for deploying autonomous vehicles across France and, eventually, other parts of Europe.
France has been selected as an important base for the collaboration because of its large ride-hailing market, growing artificial intelligence sector and strong automotive capabilities. The partners believe the country can become a leading European center for autonomous mobility, connecting the entire value chain from advanced computer chips and AI software to vehicle production and transport operations.
Safety, regulation and public involvement will be central to the project. The companies plan to work with French trade unions, city authorities and mobility stakeholders to ensure that autonomous transport develops responsibly and benefits workers, communities and passengers. With support from the French Government, the collaboration aims to move autonomous driving beyond testing and toward practical, real-world services while maintaining high standards for safety and data sovereignty.
