Ather Officially Names Its New Family E-Scooter the 'Konarc'

Ather Energy is gearing up to expand its electric portfolio with a brand-new family-focused scooter, officially named the Ather Konarc. Scheduled for launch on August 29 at the Ather Community Day 2026, this new model marks a strategic shift toward a broader, more practical commuter segment.

The Konarc is built entirely on Ather's new EL platform, which was first showcased last year as the EL01 concept. Unlike Ather's current sporty 450X lineup, the Konarc features a robust full-steel unibody construction designed specifically for everyday family use and long-term durability.

In terms of hardware, the scooter is expected to be equipped with a 14-inch alloy wheel up front and a 12-inch alloy wheel at the rear, ensuring a stable and comfortable ride over varied city roads. The suspension setup is highly conventional and practical, utilizing a standard telescopic front fork paired with a single rear shock absorber.

Power is delivered via a swingarm-mounted electric motor. Because the highly adaptable EL platform supports battery capacities ranging from 2 kWh to 5 kWh, Ather is expected to offer the Konarc in distinct High Range and Low Range variants. This multi-variant strategy is expected to position the Konarc as an aggressive, affordable offering aimed at dominating the mainstream EV commuter market.
