BMW Teases New Naked Bike for Launch: Could It Be the F 450 R?

BMW Motorrad has teased a new streetfighter motorcycle, believed to be the upcoming BMW F 450 R. The bike is expected to be based on the F 450 GS and could become the brand’s most affordable naked motorcycle after the discontinuation of the G 310 R.

The F 450 R is likely to use the same 450cc engine as the F 450 GS, which produces around 48 PS of power and 43 Nm of torque. However, BMW may offer a slightly sportier engine tune to suit the bike’s street-focused character. It is also expected to share its chassis with the F 450 GS, while receiving suspension settings designed for better road performance and handling.

The teaser image reveals a muscular fuel tank, sharp tank extensions and a compact streetfighter design. Its shorter-looking rake angle could make the motorcycle more agile and easier to handle, especially in city traffic and on twisty roads.

BMW is expected to officially unveil the F 450 R on October 1, 2026, while its launch in India could take place sometime next year. The motorcycle is likely to be priced at around ₹4.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it could compete with motorcycles such as the Aprilia Tuono 457, offering buyers a premium naked bike with BMW’s badge at a comparatively accessible price point.
