BYD Plans 3,000 FLASH Charging Stations Across Europe by 2027

BYD is planning a major expansion of its electric-vehicle charging network in Europe, with 3,000 FLASH Charging stations expected to be installed by the end of 2027. The initiative is designed to make EV charging faster and more convenient for drivers as electric mobility continues to grow across the region.

The announcement comes alongside the launch of BYD’s new ATTO 8 flagship SUV, which is the company’s first vehicle in Europe to feature FLASH Charging technology. Equipped with a 115kWh second-generation Blade Battery, the seven-seat SUV can reportedly charge from 10% to 70% in just five minutes and reach 97% in nine minutes.

BYD says the technology can deliver fast charging even in extremely cold conditions. At temperatures as low as -30°C, the ATTO 8 can recharge from 20% to 97% in around 12 minutes. This performance is intended to reduce charging times and address one of the biggest concerns among potential EV buyers: range anxiety.

The planned network of 3,000 FLASH Charging stations could help support the growing number of BYD vehicles arriving in European markets. As more drivers switch to electric cars, faster and more widely available charging infrastructure will be essential. With the ATTO 8 and its wider FLASH Charging rollout, BYD is positioning itself as a major competitor in Europe’s rapidly developing electric-vehicle market.
