BYD has expanded the Sealion 7 lineup in India with a new entry-level Dynamic trim, priced at Rs 41.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes the electric SUV significantly more accessible, undercutting the mid-spec Premium trim by a substantial Rs 8 lakh. The move is clearly aimed at widening the model's appeal in India's growing premium EV space.
The Dynamic trim is powered by a 71.8kWh Blade battery paired with a 231hp rear-wheel-drive motor. BYD claims a healthy NEDC range of 520km and a 0-100kph sprint time of 7.3 seconds. While this is a step down from the larger 82.56kWh battery in the Premium and Performance trims, it still delivers solid real-world usability for most buyers.
Despite being the base variant, the Dynamic trim doesn't feel stripped down. It retains LED lighting all around, a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, ventilated powered front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic glass roof, a 360-degree camera, 11 airbags, and Level 2 ADAS. However, it does lose out on some premium touches like a head-up display, gesture-controlled tailgate, leather-wrapped steering wheel, powered lumbar support, and a PM2.5 air filter. It also rides on slightly smaller 19-inch alloys and gets a 10-speaker audio system instead of 12.
With this aggressive pricing, the Sealion 7 Dynamic now sits well below rivals like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and BMW iX1 LWB, making it one of the most compelling value propositions in the premium electric SUV segment right now.
