The three-wheeler landscape is undergoing a structural transformation, and the latest retail sales metrics released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) confirm that electric vehicles are now the undisputed leaders of the segment. Capturing a staggering 65.30% of total three-wheeler sales for August 2026, EVs have established absolute dominance. This represents a solid, sustained shift toward sustainable urban mobility, firmly leaving traditional fossil fuels in the rearview mirror as fleet operators increasingly recognize the long-term operational advantages and lower running costs.

Looking at the year-over-year progression reveals the rapid, unstoppable pace of this transition. Just a year prior, in August 2025, electric three-wheelers accounted for 56.63% of the market. Absorbing nearly another 10% of the market share in just twelve months highlights a massive shift in consumer and fleet retail dynamics.
