Honda is adding its popular E-Clutch technology to the CMX500 Rebel for 2027, giving the A2-friendly cruiser an even more accessible riding experience. The new system allows riders to pull away, slow down and come to a stop without constantly operating the clutch lever, while still allowing manual clutch control whenever desired.

The Rebel continues to use Honda’s 471cc parallel-twin engine, producing 45.6bhp at 8,500rpm and 32lb-ft of torque at 6,000rpm. It will be offered with a six-speed gearbox and will remain available in a conventional manual version for riders who prefer a traditional riding style.

Alongside the E-Clutch system, Honda has upgraded the Rebel with a new 3.5-inch circular TFT display featuring turn-by-turn navigation. This replaces the previous LCD instrument panel and adds a more modern touch to the bike. Honda has also revised the rear shock bump-stop rubbers, which is expected to provide a smoother ride.

The CMX500 Rebel remains one of Honda’s most approachable motorcycles, thanks to its low 690mm seat height, neutral handling and relaxed riding position. Its bobber-inspired design includes a low-slung stance, fat tyres, a steel frame and a distinctive 2-into-1 exhaust, giving it a strong custom-bike character.

With its manageable performance, A2 compatibility and now easier clutch operation, the 2027 Honda Rebel 500 could appeal to both new riders and experienced motorcyclists looking for a relaxed urban cruiser. The combination of modern technology and classic styling makes it a practical yet stylish addition to Honda’s Rebel range.
