New Jeep Compass 4xe Undergoes Arctic Testing on Snow and Ice

Jeep has tested the new Compass 4xe in snowy conditions near Arjeplog, Sweden, a location situated close to the Arctic Circle. The winter testing was featured in the third episode of the brand’s Jeep Capability Stories series, which highlights the vehicle’s performance across different driving environments.
The Compass 4xe is the fully electric version of the new Compass range. It uses two electric motors, with one fitted to the front axle and the other to the rear. Together, the motors produce 375 horsepower and enable the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.
During the test, the vehicle was driven on snow-covered roads and around a test track at the Arjeplog facility. Its all-wheel-drive system can distribute torque between the front and rear axles, helping the vehicle respond to changing levels of grip. The system can also detect wheel slip and adjust the torque output in real time.

The new Compass 4xe is equipped with Jeep’s Selec-Terrain system, which offers five driving modes: Auto, Sport, Sand & Mud, Snow and 4WD Lock. These settings allow the driver to adjust the vehicle according to the road surface and driving conditions. Sport mode is designed to provide a more responsive setup, while Snow mode is intended for low-grip winter roads.

The Sport setting provides access to the vehicle’s full power output and includes sport-tuned steering. The all-wheel-drive system remains active at speeds of up to 140 km/h, while the electronic stability and traction-control systems continue to assist the driver.
The electric SUV uses a 96.1 kWh battery and has a claimed WLTP range of up to 606 kilometres. The new Jeep Compass 4xe is open for orders across Europe, offering an electric powertrain, selectable driving modes and all-wheel drive in a single SUV package.
