Seiko Expands Its 5 Sports Lineup with the New HDB004 and HDB005
Seiko has officially added the HDB004 and HDB005 models to its 5 Sports SKX series. Scheduled for an October 2026 release, this launch introduces two automatic timepieces to the existing lineup, focusing entirely on functional specifications and physical dimensions.
The new SKX series additions are built around a stainless steel case measuring 42.5mm in diameter, with a thickness of 14.2mm and a lug-to-lug distance of 46.0mm. The case incorporates a unidirectional rotating bezel and features a see-through, screw case back. The total weight of the watch is 169.0 grams.
Both models are powered by the Seiko Caliber 4R36 movement. This is an automatic movement with manual winding capability, operating on 24 jewels. It provides a power reserve of approximately 41 hours and features a stop second hand function, along with a day and date display.
The dial is covered by a curved Hardlex crystal. The hands and indices are treated with Seiko's LumiBrite material for visibility. The watches carry a water resistance rating of 10 bar and a magnetic resistance of 4,800 A/m.
For the bracelet, these models are equipped with stainless steel bands featuring a 22mm distance between the lugs. The bracelet is secured using a three-fold clasp that includes a push-button release and a secure lock mechanism.
The collection introduces two specific variations: the HDB004K1 and the HDB005K1. Both are categorized as men's watches within the 5 Sports SKX series. Both models are scheduled for release in October 2026. Seiko's U.S. product pages currently list the watches without an MSRP, so American pricing remains unconfirmed.
