The Enough Phone Packs a Removable Battery Into a Tiny 5.3-Inch Android Body

The Enough Phone team just dropped a solid update after spending time with their factory to lock in the final specs. They held off on sharing the news until they had something tangible to show, and now they do: the first dummy prototype is here, and it looks like the real deal.

This thing is shaping up to be a proper little powerhouse. Inside, you will find a MediaTek Dimensity 7500 chip, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. The screen is a 5.3 inch HD LCD running at 1520x720, which does not sound huge on paper but fits perfectly into a body that measures just 132.8 by 63.8 by 12 millimeters. For cameras, the back gets a Sony IMX766 50MP sensor that sits completely flat against the body, no camera bump in sight. Up front, there is a 32MP selfie shooter.

One of the standout features is the user replaceable battery. The team is targeting somewhere between 3,500mAh and 4,000mAh, though the exact number is not set in stone yet. You also get a fingerprint reader built right into the power button, plus Face Unlock for good measure. On the software side, you actually get to pick: either Android 17 or OdysseyOS by SLEKE.

Connectivity covers all the bases. There is 5G, eSIM support, a combined physical SIM and MicroSD slot for expandable storage, global cellular bands, NFC, and USB-C. Just do not expect wireless charging. The back plate is made from recycled polycarbonate, and half of it comes off with a tool so you can swap the battery yourself.

A few things are still being hammered out. Waterproofing and durability ratings are in testing, and the team is still running performance and battery life tests to nail down the final numbers. They have been clear that building a small phone means every component has to earn its place, and from what we are seeing, the balance looks pretty spot on.

Here is the reality check though: this phone only gets made if enough people want it. The crowdfunding goal needs 20,000 buyers on board, and right now the team has about 4,500 signed up. That is roughly a quarter of the way there.
