Timex Celebrates Fender's 80th Anniversary with a New Three-Watch Collection
Timex has officially launched three special-edition timepieces in partnership with Fender. The release commemorates Fender’s 80th anniversary and the 75th anniversary of the Fender Telecaster, the world's first commercially successful solid-body electric guitar introduced in 1950. The collection consists of the 41mm Fender x Timex Automatic, the 37mm Stratocaster-inspired model, and a 37mm Telecaster 75th Anniversary Gift Set.
The lineup features stainless-steel cases with details referencing specific guitar components. The 37mm Stratocaster variant utilizes a customized crown modeled after a guitar tone knob. The 41mm Automatic model includes a two-tone unidirectional ratcheting top ring.
Inside the cases, the watches offer a mix of movements. The 41mm Automatic is powered by a self-winding Miyota 8215 mechanical caliber, visible through an exhibition case back stamped with a Telecaster 75th Anniversary logo. The 37mm variations are equipped with quartz analog movements.
Dial layouts prioritize guitar-inspired textures and details. The 41mm Automatic utilizes a butterscotch blonde wood-grain dial with a date window at 3 o'clock. The 37mm Stratocaster model features an iridescent mother-of-pearl dial mirroring a Pearloid pickguard. The 37mm Gift Set incorporates an ice blue dial embossed with a white Telecaster silhouette. All three models feature custom guitar headstock second hands, the Fender logo, and luminant hands and applied markers.
For the straps, Timex supplies natural leather sourced from S.B. Foot Tanning Co. The 41mm Automatic uses a black leather slip-thru strap, the 37mm Stratocaster model comes with a brown leather strap, and the 37mm Gift Set includes a black leather strap with blue stitching alongside an additional fabric strap designed like a Fender guitar strap. All leather straps are secured with standard hardware, while the 37mm models feature quick-release spring bars. Every watch in the collection also includes a custom tortoiseshell guitar pick.
