Timex Expands Its Chronograph Lineup with the New Marlin Neo Classic

Timex has officially launched its newest iteration of the Marlin collection, introducing the Marlin Neo Classic Chronograph. This latest release provides multiscale timing capabilities in a straightforward, mid-century-inspired layout.

The updated Marlin collection is built around a 40mm brushed and polished stainless-steel case with a 20mm lug width, a case height of 13mm, and a lug-to-lug distance of 48.5mm. Crafted from tarnish-free, hypoallergenic stainless steel, the case features a polished top ring and curved pushers for the chronograph functions.

The mechanical feature of this new launch is a battery-powered quartz analog chronograph movement (utilizing an SR920SW battery). It supports multiple timing operations, including a sub-second dial, a 24-hour sub-dial, and both telemeter and tachymeter scales. The tachymeter can be used in conjunction with the chronograph to calculate average speed, while the telemeter scale measures approximate distance based on the speed of sound.

The dial layout features a cream multiscale display. It utilizes metallic blue Arabic numeral hour markers and metallic blue hands treated with luminant in-fill for readability in changing light conditions. A vintage-style domed acrylic crystal completes the assembly. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters (5 ATM / 164 ft).

The collection debuts with 2 distinct variants. The TW6A01200 comes with a black, eco-friendly natural leather strap sourced from Leather Working Group (LWG) suppliers. The TW3A00300 is paired with a stainless steel bracelet utilizing a butterfly deployant clasp. Both options feature tool-free, quick-release spring bars for easy attachment. The leather strap variant weighs 58.91 grams, while the stainless-steel bracelet configuration weighs 134.06 grams.
