Top 5 Electric Scooters Launched in 2026 with LFP Batteries

In 2026, Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery chemistry has quickly become the gold standard for electric two-wheelers in India. Compared to traditional NMC or NCA cells, LFP batteries offer superior thermal stability for Indian summers, higher charge-cycle longevity, and improved overall safety.

From mass-market commuters to family-focused haulers, the top 5 electric scooters launched in 2026 with LFP batteries include:

1. Ola S1 Z (2026)

It uses a 4 kW mid-drive motor with a 70 km/h top speed, charges to 80% in about 6 hours, and includes MoveOS 5, cruise control, and GPS navigation.

2. VLF Strada

Introduced in October 2026 at ₹1,19,999 (City) and ₹1,55,500 (Max), the Italian-designed VLF Strada offers removable LFP batteries—a single 2.16 kWh pack (130 km range) or dual packs totaling 4.32 kWh (250 km range). A 4.8 kW hub motor pushes it to an 85 km/h top speed, while 16-inch front and 14-inch rear wheels, dual disc brakes, and a 5-inch TFT screen round out the package.

3. Simple Wave (2.2 kWh & 2.7 kWh)

Simple Energy’s family-oriented scooter launched in September 2026 with IP67-rated LFP batteries on its lower trims, priced at ₹1,09,999 for the 2.2 kWh model (110 km range) and ₹1,39,999–₹1,49,999 for the 2.7 kWh variants (132 km range). Depending on the trim, it reaches 75–90 km/h and stands out with a massive 70-litre total storage capacity and a 920 mm long seat. Note that its higher-tier 3.7 kWh and 5 kWh variants utilize traditional NCA chemistry for maximum performance.
