Trinity Cleantech Showcases 150 kW Bioethanol Off-Grid EV Charger at India Energy Summit 2026

At the India Energy Summit & Expo 2026 in Hyderabad, Trinity Cleantech Private Limited showcased a breakthrough in sustainable mobility: the ME Energy Rapid Charger 150. Designed to bypass traditional power grid constraints, this innovative off-grid DC fast charger generates clean electricity directly on-site using liquid bioethanol, offering a practical solution to accelerate electric vehicle adoption across locations with limited or no grid access.  


The ME Energy Rapid Charger 150 integrates an onboard bioethanol power-generation unit, power-conversion electronics, an energy buffer, and a dual CCS2 fast-charging interface within a single industrial enclosure. Delivering up to 150 kW of DC fast-charging output, the system can power a single vehicle at maximum capacity or dynamically split output across two simultaneous charging sessions. Under optimal conditions, this provides a mid-range electric vehicle with approximately 250 km of driving range in just 15 minutes (ARAI-referenced estimate).  


By eliminating the wait times, high costs, and infrastructure challenges associated with heavy medium-voltage grid upgrades, the charger is tailor-made for high-demand and remote use cases. Ideal deployment scenarios include highway corridors, commercial fleet and bus depots, mining and construction sites, defense and strategic outposts, agriculture and rural hubs, renewable energy parks, and disaster/emergency response operations.  


Originally developed in Germany, the technology and its 17 patents were brought under Indian ownership through a 100% acquisition by Trinity Cleantech. Full commercial production and ongoing engineering development are now based at Trinity’s 20-plus-acre facility in Jadcherla Green Industrial Park, Telangana, supporting the "Make in India" initiative and targeting global export markets.


Alongside this off-grid innovation, Trinity showcased its advanced Package and Compact Substations ranging from 250 kVA to 2500 kVA (up to 33 kV), integrating transformers, HV/LV switchgear, protection relays, and digital SCADA-ready EMS-compatible connectivity supporting protocols like Modbus and IEC 61850. This robust portfolio is underpinned by Trinity's established manufacturing range of distribution, power, and inverter-duty transformers (25 kVA to 12.5 MVA+).


Highlighting this integrated vision, Executive Director Raj Kumar Medimi emphasized that the company is successfully combining its engineering legacy with grid-independent innovations. Looking ahead, Trinity's product roadmap includes an upcoming 80 kW variant and a combined Generator + EV Charger platform, cementing its role as a premier Make-in-India clean-energy manufacturer serving domestic and global markets.
