Triumph Bonneville T40 Unveiled

Triumph has unveiled the Bonneville T40, its smallest Bonneville model yet. Designed to bring the iconic Bonneville experience to a wider audience, the T40 combines classic British styling with modern technology and a more approachable engine. It will be available in standard and T40 Black versions.
The motorcycle features a familiar retro design, including a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, round LED headlamp, long mudguards, spoked wheels, twin rear shocks and peashooter-style exhausts. Details such as hand-painted tank lining, rubber knee pads, metal-finished engine covers and the traditional Triumph badge add to its premium appearance. Buyers will be able to choose from colours including Meriden Blue, Aegean Blue, Fusion White and Matt Pewter Grey.

Despite its old-school appearance, the Bonneville T40 is equipped with impressive modern features. It gets a 4-inch colour TFT display with smartphone connectivity, music and call controls, and built-in navigation. Other features include multiple riding modes, cruise control, self-cancelling indicators, a USB-C charging port and an analogue-style Heritage Mode for riders who prefer a more classic display.
Power comes from a 349cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 29PS and 31.2Nm of torque. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox and tuned to offer strong low-speed performance and relaxed cruising. The motorcycle also includes cornering ABS and traction control, providing an added layer of safety.

The Bonneville T40 has an upright riding position, a 790mm seat height and a kerb weight of 195 kg. A low-seat accessory will reduce the seat height to 770mm. Triumph has also equipped it with a centre stand, making maintenance and everyday use more convenient.

The T40 is expected to arrive in India by the end of the year, with an estimated price of around Rs 2.4 lakh to Rs 2.6 lakh, ex-showroom. Once launched, it will compete with motorcycles such as the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda CB350, Jawa 350 and Harley-Davidson X440. With its premium styling, modern features and accessible engine size, the Bonneville T40 could become an attractive option for riders looking for a stylish modern classic.
