TVS Orbiter Electric Scooter Gets a Substantial Price Hike

TVS Motor Company has officially revised the pricing for its affordable electric scooter, the TVS Orbiter, in India. Buyers eyeing this urban commuter will now have to stretch their budget, as both variants of the scooter have become more expensive by up to Rs. 11,000. Despite the notable price bump, TVS has not introduced any mechanical or feature updates, keeping the Orbiter positioned as the same practical, feature-rich EV it has been known as.
The entry-level Orbiter V1 variant has received the steepest increase. With an Rs. 11,000 hike, the V1 now costs Rs. 99,250 (ex-showroom), up from its previous price tag of Rs. 88,250. Meanwhile, the higher-spec Orbiter V2 variant has seen a price jump of Rs. 9,000. It will now set buyers back Rs. 1.14 lakh, compared to its earlier ex-showroom price of Rs. 1.05 lakh.
Under the hood, the TVS Orbiter continues to offer reliable specifications tailored for city riding. The V1 model utilizes a 1.8kWh battery pack that claims an IDC range of 86km, while the premium V2 model features a larger 3.1kWh battery delivering a claimed 158km on a single charge. Both variants max out at a top speed of 68kmph and come equipped with standard Eco and City riding modes to help riders optimize their daily commute.
