Xiaomi Auto Announces European Launch in 2027

Xiaomi Auto has officially confirmed its highly anticipated expansion into the European electric vehicle (EV) market, with a full launch planned for 2027. The announcement was made during the IFA 2026 trade show in Berlin, marking a major milestone in the tech giant's global mobility strategy. Germany will serve as the initial launchpad for this European rollout, underscoring Xiaomi's confidence in competing within one of the world's most established and demanding automotive landscapes.

To facilitate this massive move, Xiaomi is adopting a collaborative retail approach rather than relying solely on a direct-to-consumer sales model. At the Berlin event, the company signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with eight major German automotive dealer groups, partnering with century-old regional powerhouses such as Emil Frey Germany, Hahn Automobile, and LUEG Mobility. Dr. Yu Liguo, Vice President of Xiaomi Auto and head of international business, emphasized that localized partnerships are the backbone of their European strategy. This expansion is also being heavily supported by Xiaomi's dedicated European R&D center in Munich, as well as their newly launched global automotive website and international social channels.

The automaker enters the European arena backed by serious momentum. Since its domestic EV debut in early 2024, Xiaomi has achieved a staggering 700,000 cumulative deliveries in China, driven by the massive success of its SU7 sedan and the YU7 SUV. To ensure the export models meet the high standards of European drivers, Xiaomi is currently subjecting its vehicles to rigorous high-speed validation and functional testing across Germany, Spain, Italy, and the icy tracks of Sweden, preparing them for a flawless debut on European roads in 2027.
