River Mobility Crosses 50,000 Retail Sales in India

Bengaluru-based EV startup River Mobility has achieved a massive milestone, officially crossing the 50,000 mark in retail sales according to the latest Vahan data. As of August 17, 2026, the company recorded exactly 50,033 retail deliveries across the country. This landmark highlights the surging consumer demand for its sole offering, the River Indie electric scooter, which has been making waves since its launch.

The River Indie has carved out a unique space in the market by prioritizing rugged utility over flashy gimmicks. Equipped with a mid-drive permanent magnet synchronous motor that delivers 6.7kW of peak power and a claimed IDC range of 160km, the scooter is built to handle demanding city commutes effortlessly. It has also become a favorite among riders thanks to its massive 43-litre under-seat storage—the largest in its class—which easily swallows daily essentials like groceries and large helmets.  

This rapid retail growth is supported by River Mobility's aggressive network expansion. The company now operates more than 75 retail stores across India, significantly improving access to test rides and service support. With production and battery assembly strongly integrated at its Hoskote facility in Karnataka, River Mobility is well-positioned to maintain its momentum and climb even higher in the Indian electric two-wheeler market.
